Laura came to us with over twenty years experience as a veterinary technician, and has been a valued part of our team. You'll see her assisting the veterinarians in the exam rooms.
Working part time leaves her with an opportunity to do other things that she truly enjoys such as therapy visits with her dogs, obedience and agility trials and professional pet sitting. She is also involved in breeding beautiful, well-tempered Rottweilers and Toy Fox Terriers. She is married, has a son, five dogs and a cat.
Katelynn has been a valued veterinary technician here at BVH since receiving her CVMA certification in 2013. While you will find Katelynn assisting the doctors during regular appointments, she is especially passionate about veterinary surgery and spends much of her time assisting the doctors during procedures performed here at the hospital. She has an interested in many different fields of veterinary medicine, and recently completed an exotic animal internship at the Beardsley Zoo. In her free time, Katelynn enjoys knitting, traveling, and hiking with her dog, Harley, a Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever mix.
Ginnie is a graduate of Nonnewaug High School. She began working at BVH as a kennel attendant many years ago. We are excited that she has become a technician assistant.
She enjoys all animals and has several of her own including a horse.
Judy has been with us for many years, with over 25 years of experience in the field. You will meet her on the phone or will be greeted by her at the front desk with a friendly smile. She enjoys gardening, writing and taking care of her chickens.
Sheila is originally from Dartmouth, MA and moved to the area a few years ago. She and her family share their home with seven Newfoundlands, a rescue cat and 5 chickens. Sheila is very active in the Newfoundland Clubs of America and New England. She has bred and owned multiple Champion Newfoundlands and her offspring have competed at the Westminister and Eukanuba dog shows and have been featured on Animal Planet. In addition to showing in conformation, Sheila's Newfies hold titles in Water Rescue, Draft Work and Rally Obedience. They also perform water rescue demonstrations at Mystic Seaport's Safety on Sea and Show Weekend.
Janine has been with us for many years and can be found behind the scenes caring for boarders and hospital patients, as well as providing grooming services since 2002.
Her professional interests include dog training and nutrition. Outside of work, Janine enjoys spending time with her dogs - two rescued pit bull mixes and a Neapolitan mastiff. Janine takes every opportunity to educate others about pit bulls and how wonderful they can be.
Mikaela is graduate of Naugatuck High School. She helps to take care of and attend to all the animals staying with us. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and studying physics. She has one dog, Lola (pictured right), a fluffy Pomeranian.
